Videogames have been impacted by the revolution of technological improvements and the “digital era”. A few decades ago, a videogame was limited to offer entertainment, in a physical format of interaction “face to face”. Nowadays, the development of online games offers a real digital universe, participative and dynamic, with social and economic relations that we had never imagined and that go far beyond the entertainment of the “players”.
For the time being, there are no regulations for its specificities and innovations. Online games are an online platform that fluctuates between the anarchy of the players and the arbitrariness of the developers and the system providers.
The objective of this exploratory is to illustrate, from a legal perspective, how this growing phenomenon affects the lives of millions of people all over the world.
